Working with Gems, Souls and Runes in Mine and Slash

Gem Tiers

Gems come in eight families, each with six tiers: Gems/Amethyst/1-6, Gems/Azurite/1-6, Gems/Emerald/1-6, Gems/Garnet/1-6, Gems/Opal/1-6, Gems/Ruby/1-6, Gems/Sapphire/1-6, Gems/Topaz/1-6 and Gems/Tourmaline/1-6. Higher tier numbers are stronger. Socket them into gear to add stats.

Extracting and Reusing

Use Currency/Extract Gem to pull a gem back out of gear so you can reuse it. Use Currency/Extract Rune to pull a rune back out. This lets you move high-tier gems between pieces as you upgrade.

Souls

Souls handle stat rerolling and cleaning:

• Gear Soul Cleaner removes soul data from a piece
• Gear Stat Soul applies a stat soul
• Common Gear Soul Stone is the basic soul currency
• Currency/Force Soul Tag Armor Stat, Currency/Force Soul Tag Dodge Stat and Currency/Force Soul Tag Magic Shield Stat force a specific soul tag onto gear

Runes and Awakening

Awaken RuneWord is used to awaken a runeword on gear. Combine it with the rune you want to lock in.

Practical Order

1. Socket gems from the Gems/... tiers.

2. Extract with Currency/Extract Gem when upgrading.

3. Clean souls with Gear Soul Cleaner.

4. Apply the soul you want with Gear Stat Soul or the Force Soul Tag currencies.

5. Awaken with Awaken RuneWord.

This keeps gear flexible instead of locked into one build.
