How Mimic Items Work

The Mimic Mod adds three items: the Mimic Heart, the Mimic Key, and the Mimic Lock. Together they form a simple trap-and-unlock loop built around mimic-themed containers.

A Mimic Lock is used to secure a container, turning it into a mimic-style trap. A Mimic Heart is tied to that trapped container, acting as the core of the mimic. When another player interacts with the locked container, the trap triggers through the Mimic Heart.

The Mimic Key is the counterpart to the Mimic Lock. Whoever holds the key can open the container safely, bypassing the trap. This makes the three items a matched set: lock the container, bind a heart to it, and keep the key for yourself.

Because the mod is small, there is no separate crafting chain beyond these three items. Treat them as one mechanic: lock, bait, and unlock. Exact recipes and trigger behavior are best confirmed in-game, as the mod does not document numeric details.
