Automating Item Collection and Mob Farms with Floor Plates

Water streams and long chains of vanilla hoppers take up extra room and slow down compact farm designs. Irregular Implements includes twelve special Item Plates that sit along the floor to push, pull, sort, and speed up items or mobs across surfaces.

Moving Drops and Mobs

1. Clear a flat floor path leading from your mob farm or crop collection point toward your storage area.

2. Place automation plates along the floor facing the direction you want drops or creatures to travel.

3. Install Accelerator Plates along straightaways to push walking mobs and moving items forward at high speeds.

4. Mix in pulling and sorting plates from the twelve-plate set to gather stray drops and split mixed loot into separate lanes.

Feeding Containers Automatically

Once your plate path reaches your storage wall, you can route items straight into inventories.

1. Place chests or hoppers at the end of each floor plate line.

2. Set down extraction and insertion plates next to your connected containers so dropped items feed directly inside.

3. Toss a handful of test items onto the start of the track to confirm every corner guides drops cleanly into your chests before sealing up the farm.
