Setting Up Your Workstone

The Workstone is your primary manual crafting station for flattening metals and breaking down raw ores. Place it on solid ground in your base—it doesn't require a heat source.

Crushing Materials

1. Gather a hammer: Craft a hammer from flint, iron, gold, diamond, or netherite. Higher-tier hammers have better durability and process materials faster.

2. Place your ingredient: Put raw ore, ingots, or other crushable materials directly on top of the Workstone block.

3. Strike with your hammer: Right-click the Workstone with your hammer equipped. Each strike consumes durability and progresses the recipe.

4. Collect your result: Once fully processed, the flattened or crushed output appears on the block.

Tips

  • Different materials require different numbers of hammer strikes—harder ores need more hits.
  • Check your recipe in JEI or EMI to see exactly how many strikes each item needs.
  • Hammer durability degrades with each use; repair or craft new hammers as needed.
  • The Workstone works best as an early-game alternative to furnaces for processing ores into usable forms.
