Using the Foundry

The Foundry is a single block added by this mod that smelts materials. Unlike a conventional furnace, it does not simply consume an input and return an output — it retains residual contents after processing. This means the block accumulates leftovers from the materials it has smelted.

The Foundry has three visual states. The plain Foundry is idle and unused. The Lit Foundry represents its active state while it is smelting. The Foundry with residuals represents its used state, once residual contents have built up inside it.

Because residuals persist, you cannot treat the Foundry as a fire-and-forget furnace. Check the block periodically and clear or manage what it has left behind, or the residual-filled variant will remain. The lit variant tells you at a glance that smelting is currently in progress, so you can tell whether the block is working or simply sitting idle with accumulated contents.
