Why Use Stages for Quests
If you want certain quests to only appear or become completable after a player reaches a milestone, you can hook
FTB Quests into the
Game Stages mod. FTB XMod Compat handles this link automatically once both mods are present, so you do not need to configure anything in the compat mod itself.
Setting It Up
1. Make sure
Game Stages and
FTB Quests are both installed. FTB XMod Compat will detect them on load.
2. Create your stage in
Game Stages using its normal commands or scripts (for example, defining a stage named after your progression tier).
3. In the
FTB Quests quest editor, open the quest you want to gate and look for the stage requirement option. Assign the stage you created to that quest.
4. Grant the stage to a test player and confirm the quest unlocks or becomes completable.
What Happens When a Stage Changes
When a player gains or loses a stage, FTB XMod Compat tells
FTB Quests to re-check quest completion. This means a quest that was previously locked can immediately become available, and any quest that depended on that stage updates without the player needing to relog. Use this to build clean progression chains where finishing one mod's content opens the next mod's quests.
