Modifiers are upgrade items that change how a machine behaves. They are produced by the Assembler and installed into machine housings.

The Modifier Items

There are six modifiers: Amplification Modifier, Bandwidth Modifier, Dimensional Modifier, Electrostatic Modifier, Frequency Modifier and Interdimensional Modifier. Each one targets a different aspect of machine operation — output scaling, throughput, spatial handling, charge behaviour, signal tuning and cross-dimension linking respectively.

Producing Modifiers

Modifiers come out of the Assembler. Feed the Assembler the tier materials and components it needs — crystals, wafers, boules, interconnects, CPU and Flash Memory are the building blocks of advanced parts — and select the modifier you want. Because modifiers are Assembler outputs, you need a working Assembler with power and item I/O before you can make any of them.

Installing Modifiers

Place the modifier into the machine you want to upgrade. Use the modifier that matches your bottleneck: if the machine is too slow, use the throughput modifier; if output is too small, use the scaling modifier. For machines that need to reach another dimension, use the dimensional or interdimensional modifier.

Practical Order

Build one Assembler, produce a single modifier, test it on one machine, then scale up. Do not build all six at once — match each modifier to a specific machine that is underperforming.
