Finding the Custom Loot Chests
The overhaul adds new rooms with custom loot chests. These rooms are part of the interior halls, not the bridge, so you need to enter the fortress proper to find them. Explore every wing and side room rather than rushing straight to the blaze spawner. Chests may be tucked into corners, behind stairs, or on upper levels connected by the new staircases.
What to Bring
Carry an empty inventory or a shulker box so you have room for loot. Bring a pickaxe in case chests are blocked by nether brick, and a shield to block blaze shots while opening chests. Wither skeletons patrol fortresses, so a bow or a sword with Smite helps clear them before you loot. Do not open chests while standing in a doorway where blazes can hit you from behind.
Looting Efficiently
Clear each room of hostile mobs before opening chests, since mobs can interrupt the loot animation. Open every chest you find, even in rooms that look empty, because custom loot tables may place valuable items in unexpected spots. If you find a chest you cannot carry everything from, note its coordinates and come back with more storage. Combine looting runs with blaze rod farming so one trip covers both goals.
