Once you have applied a wing, you will eventually want a different look or want to strip it back to the default elytra. This guide covers swapping and reverting.
Swapping to a New Look
1. Have the currently customized elytra and a new
Elytra Wing ready.
2. Combine them the same way you applied the first wing.
3. The new wing's appearance overwrites the old one.
You do not need to remove the old wing first — applying a new one replaces it. This means you can collect several wings and rotate through them whenever you feel like a change.
Reverting to the Plain Elytra
If you want the original, uncustomized appearance back, you need to separate the wing from the elytra rather than apply another wing. Check the crafting grid for the reverse combination — putting the customized elytra in alone, or with the appropriate item, should return you a plain elytra and the wing. If a recipe does not appear, the mod may expect you to simply apply a default/blank wing instead.
Practical Tips
- Label chests by wing type so you can find the look you want fast.
- Test a swap in a safe spot before a long flight, in case you accidentally move the wrong item.
- Keep one untouched elytra as a backup in case a swap goes wrong.
