Speeding Up Botany Pot Growth

Reduce downtime

Growth only advances while the pot has valid soil, a valid plant, and any required tool in the hoe slot. Check all three before looking for other speed options. A pot missing soil or a hoe will sit idle no matter what else you do.

Use the hoe slot consistently

Keep a hoe in the hoe slot of every pot. Replace broken hoes promptly. If you run many pots, store spare hoes in a chest beside the farm so you can refill quickly.

Automate harvesting to keep pots cycling

A pot that is full of uncollected output can stall. Use hopper variants to pull items out automatically: Hopper Botany Pot, Brick Hopper Botany Pot, Deepslate Brick Hopper Botany Pot, End Stone Brick Hopper Botany Pot, or any colored hopper pot such as Black Hopper Botany Pot, Blue Hopper Botany Pot, Brown Hopper Botany Pot, Cyan Hopper Botany Pot, Gray Hopper Botany Pot, Green Hopper Botany Pot, Light Blue Hopper Botany Pot, Light Gray Hopper Botany Pot, Lime Hopper Botany Pot, or Magenta Hopper Botany Pot. Route the hopper output into a chest so the pot never backs up. Waxed and glazed variants are decorative and do not affect growth rate.
