Explore the Overhauled Lush Caves and Axolian Structures

Axo Chaos reworks the Lush Caves and adds 14 randomly generated structures across the overworld and underground. Explore both to find the materials, mobs and loot the rest of the mod depends on.

Scouting the Lush Caves

1. Find a vanilla Lush Cave. Look for azalea trees on the surface, which usually sit above one. With the mod installed, these caves have new flora, custom wildlife and mini-dungeons.

2. Bring torches, a shield, food and a pickaxe. The caves are dense, and some of the new mobs are hostile.

3. Learn the new mob variants. You may meet Sporelotls and Mawzaleas. Approach anything unfamiliar carefully until you know how it behaves.

4. Search every mini-dungeon you find. These small structures are worth clearing before you head deeper.

Hunting for Structures

• Explore both the surface and underground. Structures generate in both places, so caving trips and overland travel each turn up different finds.
• Settlements with rune wood buildings are Axolian villages. They are good places to trade and rest.
• Temples built from ancient obsidian are worth a full search. The AxoForge workstation can appear inside these rooms.
• Collect unfamiliar materials such as Treezalea Petals, Ancient Guardian Eyes and Axo Essence whenever you see them. They are the mod's unique crafting materials.
• Mark coordinates (F3) for every structure. You will want to return to merchants and forges later.
