The mod binds a key (default: G) that enables and disables automatic tool swapping. If another mod or your own habits already use that key, you will want to move it.

Rebinding the key

Open your controls screen from the options menu. Search or scroll for the Automatic Tool Swap entry, which is listed under its own category or alongside the mod's other bindings. Click the keybind field and press the key you want to use instead. If the game warns you that the key is already in use, pick a different one or clear the conflicting binding first.

Choosing a good key

Pick something you can reach without leaving WASD, since you will press it mid-task. Keys near the movement cluster work well, but avoid anything you already hold while mining, such as sneak or attack. A key you only tap occasionally is ideal because the toggle is a state change, not a hold.

Confirming it works

After rebinding, mine a block with the wrong tool selected and a correct tool in your hotbar. If the swap happens, the feature is on. Press your new key and mine again; the swap should not occur. Press it once more to re-enable. If nothing changes, reopen the controls screen and verify the binding saved.
