How Decorative Blocks Work
Unlike equipment tiers, decorative block recipes don't require full questline completion. Instead, individual advancements unlock specific decorative recipes instantly when achieved.
Finding and Unlocking Decorative Blocks
1. Check your guide book for advancements labeled as decorative or cosmetic
2. Complete the specific task associated with that advancement
3. The decorative block recipe unlocks immediately—no further progression needed
4. Craft and place your decorative blocks right away
Balancing Decoration and Progression
Since decorative blocks don't gate your survival progression, you can pursue them alongside your main equipment tier advancements. They're useful for building and customizing your base without slowing down your gear progression.
If you want to decorate early in your world, look for decorative advancements that match tasks you're already doing (like mining specific blocks or reaching certain locations). This way you unlock decoration recipes naturally while working toward equipment tiers.
