Prepare Your Tool
Enchant an axe, pickaxe, or shovel with Fortune III using an enchanting table or anvil. Fortune III is the highest tier of the Fortune enchantment and significantly increases the number of drops from certain blocks.
Find and Target Melons
Locate melon blocks in your world—they naturally spawn in jungles and can be grown from melon seeds. Melons appear as large green blocks made up of individual segments.
Harvest with Your Enchanted Tool
Mine the melon block using your Fortune III-enchanted tool. Instead of the standard drop amount, you'll now collect up to ten melon slices from a single block. This is a legacy mechanic that differs from vanilla Minecraft's standard melon drops.
Collect and Store
Gather all the dropped melon slices. With Fortune III active, you'll get significantly more slices per melon, making melon farming much more efficient. Store your slices in chests or use them for food, crafting, or trading.
