If you smash a mob and see no wave, work through the checks below, starting with the data pack itself.
Check that the data pack is loaded
1. Open your world and run /datapack list.
2. Look for Better Mace Data Pack under the enabled packs. If it is only under available packs, enable it with /datapack enable and the exact pack name shown in the list.
3. Run /reload so the world picks up the change.
4. If it is missing from both lists, the pack is not in the world's datapacks folder. Put it there, then run /reload.
Check that you are doing a real smash attack
- You must hold a mace and be falling when the hit lands.
- Normal ground hits and weak jump attacks will not trigger the wave.
- The attack must actually hurt the target. A miss, or a hit on something that cannot take damage, produces nothing.
Still nothing?
- Test on a plain mob such as a zombie in an open space, so nothing else interferes.
- On a server, the pack must be enabled in the server's world, not only on your own client. Ask an admin to run the commands above.
