How to Turn Off the Animated Star on New Items

If the animated star over freshly picked-up items is more distracting than helpful, you can disable it entirely or narrow down when it appears. The mod is controlled through its config file, so you do not need to uninstall anything.

Finding and editing the config

Locate the mod's config file in your Minecraft config folder. Open it with any plain text editor. Look for the option that toggles the highlight feature itself — usually a boolean set to true. Change it to false to stop the star from appearing on new items altogether. Save the file and restart the game so the change takes effect.

Narrowing the behavior instead of disabling it

If you still want highlights but only briefly, keep the feature enabled and instead adjust the related options. You can set the mod to clear markers when you close the inventory, or when you hover over an item. Enabling both means a star disappears the moment you look at the item or leave the screen, which keeps your inventory visually clean without losing the feature entirely.

After editing, always relaunch the game rather than just reloading a world, since config values are read at startup. If the star still shows, double-check you edited the correct config file and that no other profile or instance is overriding it.
