How to Make New Item Stars Match Item Name Colors

By default the animated star uses a golden color, which can clash with renamed or enchanted items that already have colored names. The mod lets you switch the highlight color so it follows each item's name color instead.

Changing the color mode

Open the mod's config file from your config folder. Find the option that controls the icon color — it typically offers a choice between a fixed default color and matching the item name color. Set it to the name-color option. Save the file and restart Minecraft so the setting loads.

What you will see in game

Once enabled, a diamond item with a default white name gets a white star, while an enchanted item with its usual colored name gets a star in that same color. Renamed items using color codes will also carry their custom color into the star. This makes the highlight blend naturally with your inventory instead of standing out as a single uniform gold marker.

If you prefer the original look, simply switch the option back to the default color. Because this is a display-only setting, changing it never affects items themselves — it only changes how the star is drawn over them. Restart the game after each change to confirm the new color is applied correctly.
