Hopper X Treme FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start using this mod?
Craft your first hopper upgrade (honeyed, copper, golden, diamond, or netherite depending on your resources) and place it where a normal hopper would go. Right-click it with a wrench to rotate output directions, just like a standard hopper. Check your in-game guide book for crafting recipes specific to each tier.
What's the difference between a hopper and a hupper?
Hoppers pull items downward into containers below them, while huppers push items straight up into containers above them. Use huppers to send loot to elevated storage without needing complex redstone or item elevators.
How do I make items go in multiple directions at once?
Place a multi-hopper or multi-hupper and use a wrench to toggle which output directions are active. Items will split evenly among all enabled outputs, so a multi-hopper with three directions active sends roughly one-third of items to each side.
Can I filter specific items through hoppers?
Yes, but only golden-tier hoppers and higher support filtering. Craft an item filter using the recipe in your guide book, then place it in the hopper's filter slot to whitelist which items can pass through.
Why isn't my copper hopper responding to redstone signals?
That's the point—copper hoppers are redstone-proof and ignore all redstone locking signals, so they keep moving items even when powered. Use this for systems that need to run independently of redstone clocks.
How do I launch blocks across my base?
Use a glazed hopper, which acts like a dropper and shoots items into the air. Higher-tier glazed hoppers launch items further, so a netherite glazed hopper will send blocks much further than a honeyed one.
Can I use a honeyed hopper for redstone clocks?
Yes—the honeyed hopper moves exactly one item per second, making it perfect for creating reliable redstone clocks without needing comparators or complex timing circuits.
What happens if I connect a hopper to a block that can't hold items?
The hopper will try to push items into that block and fail silently; items will back up in the hopper or drop if it fills. Always connect hoppers to containers like chests, barrels, or other storage blocks.
Do faster hoppers use more resources or lag the server?
Faster hoppers move items more frequently but don't inherently cause lag—performance depends on how many items are flowing through your system at once. Netherite hoppers moving 20 items per second will stress a server more than honeyed hoppers moving 1 per second.
Can I use a wrench from another mod on these hoppers?
Most standard wrenches from other mods should work, but check your mod's compatibility notes if rotation isn't working. If unsure, craft the wrench specified in this mod's guide book.
