Hollow Vessel Projection FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get started with this mod?
You need to collect blood using a syringe (right-click while holding one, costs four hearts), process it in a
DNA Centrifuge to get DNA samples, then use those samples and energy in a
Shell Forge to create your first clone body. Once a Shell Forge is powered and contains a finished clone, right-click it to enter the radial menu and transfer your consciousness.

Yes—place powered Shell Forges in different dimensions, then right-click any
Shell Forge to open the radial menu and instantly transfer to whichever clone body you want, regardless of dimension. This lets you skip travel time and set up fast-travel hubs.

Yes, each Shell maintains its own independent inventory, experience level, and game mode, so you can equip different gear or keep supplies organized across your clone bodies.
What happens if I die on Hardcore mode?
Instead of losing your world, you automatically wake up in the nearest available powered Shell, giving you a second chance even on Hardcore—as long as you've prepared a standby vessel beforehand.
How much health do I lose when collecting blood?
Each blood collection with a syringe costs four hearts of health, so plan ahead and make sure you have enough health remaining before extracting.
Can I transfer to a Shell that's in the same dimension I'm already in?
Yes, you can use the radial menu to swap between any powered Shells, even if they're nearby—useful for switching gear or game modes without moving physically.
What do I need to power a
Shell Forge?
Shell Forges require energy to operate; the mod uses standard Minecraft mod energy (the specific type depends on your modpack), so provide power from compatible generators or batteries.
Can I create multiple clones at once?
You can build multiple Shell Forges and run them in parallel, but each forge creates one clone body at a time and requires its own energy and DNA supply.
What happens to my original body when I transfer to a Shell?
Your consciousness moves to the Shell you select, and your original body is left behind as an empty vessel—you can return to it later by transferring back if it's still powered.
Do I need to collect new blood every time I want to make a clone?
Yes, each new Shell requires DNA samples, which come from processing blood in the
DNA Centrifuge, so you'll need to sacrifice health repeatedly to create multiple backup bodies.
