Hoffens Minimal Armor Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Why can I see my character's face when wearing diamond or netherite armor?
This pack redesigns diamond and netherite helmets to be minimal, removing the face-covering portions so your skin and expressions remain visible. This is intentional and lets you maintain your character's appearance while still benefiting from armor protection.
Do armor trims show up on all pieces with this pack?
Armor trims display on most pieces, but may not show fully on leggings due to how the trim patterns are positioned on that armor type. This is a design limitation of the minimal style rather than a bug.
Can I use this pack with mods that add custom armor?
This pack only retextures vanilla armor, so custom armor from other mods will display normally without the minimal changes. The pack won't conflict with mod armor, but mod pieces won't inherit the minimal aesthetic.
Why does leather armor look different than other armor types?
Leather armor remains fully visible and unmodified in this pack, making it ideal for creative displays and armor stand setups. This is intentional to preserve leather's versatility for decorative purposes.
Will this pack work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so you can use this on any server without needing server permission. Other players will see your skin better because of the minimal armor design, even if they don't have the pack installed.
Does this pack change how armor functions or protection values?
No, this is purely a visual resource pack—armor protection, durability, and all mechanics remain exactly the same. Only the appearance of armor is altered.
Can I use this pack with armor stand mods to create better displays?
Yes, the minimal design and fully visible leather armor make this pack excellent for armor stand displays, especially with mods or datapacks that let you pose armor stands in creative ways. Leather armor in particular will show off custom designs clearly.
What should I do if armor trims look wrong or don't appear?
Trim display issues are usually due to the minimal design placement on certain pieces—this is expected behavior, not a bug. If trims are completely missing, try regenerating your resource pack cache or reinstalling the pack.
Does this pack affect enchantment glows or visual effects on armor?
No, enchantment glows and other visual effects display normally on top of the minimal armor textures. Only the base armor appearance is changed.
