High Resolution Vessel Craft FAQ

All three vessel types (River Skiff, Explorer Sloop, and Merchant Schooner) are crafted in standard crafting tables using wood and other basic materials. Check your crafting menu or the mod's crafting guide for the exact recipe for the ship you want to build.

Right-click the steering wheel to take the helm, then use W to move forward, S to reverse, and A or D to turn. Double-tap W for a speed burst or double-tap A/D for sharp banking turns.

You can walk freely across the ship deck and step on and off without being locked into a seat. Right-click or press Sneak at the helm to leave the steering wheel and explore the deck.

Hold Sneak while interacting with the storage crates and barrels on a Sloop or Schooner. The River Skiff has no cargo hold, the Explorer Sloop has a 9-slot deck chest, and the Merchant Schooner has a 27-slot storage hold.

Use the command `/locate structure peterwolfs_boats_and_ships:waterman_settlement` to find the nearest coastal hamlet, or use `/pwboats spawn-settlement [small|large]` to spawn a test settlement on the shore where you're standing.

Waterman villagers are fully functional—they fish, manage ports, and pilot ships autonomously across the water, making settlements feel alive and dynamic.

Craft the Lighthouse Light block and place it where you want it. Right-click to cycle through rotating spotlight, flashing beam, and off settings to guide ships or light up your coastal base.

Ships have full survival support—you can craft every vessel and fixture using standard crafting tables, so you can build and use them entirely in survival mode.

The River Skiff is a quick two-seater with rowing oars, the Explorer Sloop is a four-seat single-mast ship with a 9-slot chest, and the Merchant Schooner is the largest with six seats, dual wheels, and a 27-slot hold for hauling loot.
