Herobrine Companion FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I find Herobrine for the first time?
Herobrine spawns naturally in dark areas of the Overworld, so explore caves and dark biomes to encounter him. If you can't find him, use the /hb command to summon him directly next to you (this works only once per world).
What's the best way to increase Herobrine's trust?
Trade with him regularly, fight mobs together, and complete quests he offers—all of these actions build trust. Higher trust unlocks rewards like Totems and permanent night vision, and improves his mood toward you.
How do I have real conversations with Herobrine?
Open the interaction menu, go to Dialogue Management, and add your AI API key to enable free-form conversations. Once set up, you can chat with him naturally in-game and he'll remember your conversations.
What does the Creator's Contract do?
Hold the Creator's Contract and
right-click Herobrine to give him direct orders like guarding an area or resting. This lets you control his immediate actions without opening the full menu.
Why is Herobrine ignoring me?
If you've attacked him, he enters Judge mode and will ignore you until you rebuild trust through trading and quests. Avoid hitting him to keep him in a friendlier mood.
How do I make Herobrine sit down?
Hold the
Shelter of the Creator and Shift+Right-click a bed or boat to make him sit down and rest. He can also sit on chairs when you ask him to through the menu.

Zombies trade iron nuggets for rotten flesh, Skeletons trade bones for arrows, Creepers trade TNT for gunpowder, and Endermen trade ender pearls for chorus fruit. Herobrine converts regular monsters into these Awakened versions that trade instead of attack.
Can Herobrine revive me if I die?
Yes—when you fall in battle, Herobrine will revive you and move you to safety if his trust is high enough and he's in Guardian mode. This requires him to be nearby and in a protective mood.
Why do I need to turn on cheats for Herobrine to work?
Cheats must be enabled so Herobrine can execute commands like changing the weather, spawning items, or teleporting you when you request these actions. Without cheats, he can't perform these special abilities.
What's the difference between Herobrine's moods?
Each mood changes his behavior: Observer watches from above, Guardian gives buffs, Judge ignores you, Trickster pranks you, Maintainer cleans up, and King of Monsters helps enemies. His mood shifts based on your actions and trust level.
