Finding and Editing the Config
After installing the mod, a config file is generated in your instance's config directory. Open it with any text editor. You will typically find options controlling how far the panic spreads, how long mobs stay scared, and whether certain mob types are affected at all. The exact option names depend on your mod version, so read the comments in the file rather than guessing.
Tuning the Behavior to Your Playstyle
If you want a calmer world:
- Reduce the panic radius so only mobs standing very close to the victim react.
- Shorten the panic duration so animals settle down quickly after you stop attacking.
- Disable the effect for specific mob types you find annoying, such as chickens or rabbits, if the config supports per-mob toggles.
- If you run a server, edit the config on the server side; client-side changes alone will not affect other players.
After saving the file, restart the game or reload the world so the new values take effect. Test by hitting one animal in a group and watching how many others run. Adjust again if needed. This is the fastest way to keep the realism without turning every harvest into a stampede.
