Glowing Items Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Why aren't my items glowing?
Make sure you have the resource pack enabled in your world settings—go to Options > Resource Packs and move Glowing Items from Available to Selected. If items still don't glow, check that you're looking at items the pack actually affects, like enchanted tools or Totems of Undying.
Which items get the glowing effect?
The pack adds glows to enchanted weapons and tools, Totems of Undying, Nether Stars, and other magical or special items. See the Understanding Which Items Glow guide for the complete list of affected items.
Does the glow work in the inventory?
Yes, glowing items display their aura both when you're holding them in the world and when viewing them in your inventory or containers.
Can I change the glow color for specific items?
Yes, you can customize glow colors by editing the pack's texture files or configuration. See the Customizing Glow Colors for Different Items guide for step-by-step instructions.
Does this mod work with other resource packs?
It can conflict with packs that modify the same items or textures. If you're using multiple packs, place Glowing Items higher in your resource pack list so its textures take priority.
Will this affect my fps or performance?
The glow effect has minimal performance impact since it uses standard Minecraft rendering. If you experience lag, try disabling the pack temporarily to confirm it's the cause, then check the Troubleshooting Missing Glow Effects guide.
Why do some enchanted items not glow?
Not all enchanted items are included in the pack—only certain weapons, tools, and special items receive the glow effect. Check the Understanding Which Items Glow guide to see if your item is supported.
Does the glow show up for other players?
No, glowing effects are client-side only and appear only on your screen. Other players won't see the glow unless they also have the resource pack installed.
How do I remove the glow from specific items?
You can disable the glow for individual items by editing the pack's texture files or using the customization options. See the Customizing Glow Colors for Different Items guide for details.
Does this work with mods that add new items?
The pack only affects vanilla Minecraft items by default. If you want glows on modded items, you'll need to manually add them to the pack's texture files.
