Glenn's Gases FAQ

Glenn's Gases is a Minecraft mod that adds a variety of hazardous gases to the underground world, along with complex piping systems, gas-powered machinery, and survival equipment. It is aimed at survival players who want new challenges and solutions.

The mod adds Steam, Coal Dust, Chlorine Gas, Natural Gas, Red Gas, Nitrous Gas, Acidic Vapour, Void Gas, and Electric Gas. Each has different properties, ranging from toxic and flammable to explosive.

The mod is available for Minecraft 1.12.2 and 1.7.10.

A full block of Coal Dust appears whenever a block of Coal Ore is mined. This can be configured in the Configurations.

Yes, Coal Dust is extremely explosive and spreads in all directions, so be mindful about torches when mining coal. It cannot be used as a fuel source.

Chlorine Gas transforms nearby iron ore blocks into Rusted Iron Ore and nearby iron blocks into Rusted Iron Block. It also slowly breaks iron and chain armor worn by the player on contact, which can be changed in the Configurations.

Red Gas is the only explosive gas that appears naturally underground and explodes on contact with water. It also serves as an excellent fuel for Gas Lanterns and Gas Furnaces.

Nitrous Gas is a mix of nitrogen dioxide and dinitrogen tetroxide that reacts with water to become Acidic Vapour. It looks very similar to Red Gas but has quite different properties.

Acidic Vapour appears when Nitrous Gas and water collide, and it will blind the player almost instantly.

Void Gas appears when Bedrock attempts to fill its surrounding area with it. If the area is properly lit, the Void Gas will not appear, or it will evaporate.
