Filter Items by Enchantments and NBT Data
Match Items Based on Their Internal Properties
NBT (Named Binary Tag) data contains all the hidden properties of items—enchantments, custom names, potion effects, and more. The NBT filter lets you target items with very specific properties.
Configuring NBT Filtering
1. Open your
Smart Filter's configuration menu
2. Click "Add…" and select the NBT filter type
3. Double-click to configure it
4. You can manually enter NBT paths and values, or use JEI integration
5. To use JEI: drag an enchanted item or specially-crafted item directly into the filter menu
6. The mod will automatically detect and populate the relevant NBT data
7. Adjust or refine the values as needed
8. Click "Done" to save
Practical Examples
Use NBT filtering to sort:
- Items with specific enchantments (like Mending or Silk Touch)
- Potions with particular effects
- Tools or weapons with custom NBT tags added by other mods
- Items with specific durability values stored in their data
This filter type is most powerful when combined with other filters in a compound setup.
