Select a Quality Preset

Flashier Flashlights includes performance presets ranging from Potato (minimal) to Extreme (maximum visual fidelity). Access these in your mod settings and choose a preset that matches your computer's capabilities. Lower presets reduce shadow detail, disable volumetric light shafts, and minimize particle effects.

Disable Expensive Visual Features

If you're still experiencing lag, selectively disable:

  • Volumetric light shafts (the god-ray effect)
  • Floating dust particles
  • Lens bloom effects
  • Colored shadow tinting

These settings are toggleable individually, letting you keep core functionality while cutting visual overhead.

Shader Compatibility

Ensure you're using an optimized shader pack like Sodium or Embeddium alongside the mod. Avoid extremely demanding shaders if your PC struggles. The mod works best when both your shader and flashlight settings are balanced for your system's performance level.
