Craft and Charge Your First Flashlight

Gathering Materials

Before you can explore dark caves, you need to craft a flashlight and its power source. Collect the required crafting materials—typically including copper, glass, and redstone components. Check your mod's crafting recipes in JEI or NEI if you're unsure of exact ingredient placement.

Crafting and Powering Up

Once you have the materials, craft your flashlight at a crafting table. You'll also need to craft a rechargeable battery that stores Forge Energy. Place the battery in a charger (powered by your preferred energy source—furnace generators, solar panels, or other mod machines work well) until it reaches full capacity.

Equipping Your Light

Hold the charged battery in your inventory, then equip the flashlight in your main hand. Right-click to toggle the beam on and off. The flashlight will consume energy from the battery as it operates. When the battery runs low, remove it and recharge it at your energy charger. You can now venture into pitch-black tunnels with a focused, shadow-casting beam of light.
