Experience Realistic Explosion Audio

How Sound Distance Works

This mod changes how you hear explosions based on your location and surroundings. Nearby blasts are deafening, while distant ones are quiet rumbles. The environment dramatically affects what you hear.

Listening Scenarios

In open areas. A nearby explosion is extremely loud. You'll hear the bright flash of light before the sound reaches you, mimicking real-world physics. Distant explosions become faint background noise.

Inside caves. Sound echoes loudly off stone walls, creating an intense, reverberating effect. The enclosed space amplifies the blast noise significantly.

Inside your house. Walls block most external explosion noise. You'll hear muffled sounds rather than the full blast, providing a sense of safety and shelter.

Enable battle ambience. If you want immersive distant combat sounds, activate the optional background battle noises feature. This adds ambient drops and faraway explosions to your world, creating atmosphere even when no explosions are happening nearby.

Ear ringing effect. If you're caught in the blast zone, your ears will ring—a temporary audio effect that reinforces the danger of being too close.
