How to Repair a Damaged Anvil with Iron Ingots

The basic mechanic

Normally a damaged anvil can only be replaced or merged with another anvil. This mod lets you repair a worn anvil directly using iron ingots, so you do not have to craft a fresh one every time it cracks.

Repair steps

1. Place the damaged anvil down (or use one already placed).

2. Hold iron ingots and interact with the anvil the way you would to repair it.

3. The anvil's damage is reduced, consuming iron ingots in the process.

Repeat until the anvil is back to full condition. The exact number of ingots depends on how damaged the anvil is, so just keep feeding ingots until the cracks are gone.

What this does and does not do

This repairs the anvil block itself — it does not save or preserve the items you were working on, and it does not change how anvil combining works. It is purely a way to extend the life of an anvil without spending the full material cost of a new one. Keep a stack of iron ingots near your anvil station so you can top it up whenever it starts to wear down, and you will rarely need to craft a replacement again.
