Easy Magic Mod FAQ
19 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get started with Easy Magic?
Craft or place an enchantment table as usual and right-click it to open the interface. Put your tool or armor in the slot and lapis lazuli in its slot, and the table will show you exactly which enchantments you'll get before you commit.
Why does my item stay in the enchantment table when I close it?
That's intentional—Easy Magic saves whatever is placed in the table, so you can walk away and come back without losing your item. Just reopen the table to retrieve it or continue enchanting.
How do I see what enchantments I'll get before enchanting?
Once your item and lapis are in the table, the available enchantment options display the actual enchantments they'll apply, so you can pick the one you want instead of guessing. No more blind enchanting.
How do I automate my enchantment table with hoppers?
Place a hopper on top to feed in tools or armor, a hopper on the side to feed in lapis lazuli, and a hopper underneath to pull out the enchanted results. This lets you run the table hands-free.
Which side does the lapis hopper go on?
The side hopper is the one that inserts lapis lazuli, while the top hopper handles tools and armor and the bottom hopper extracts finished items. Keep these positions straight or the table won't receive the right inputs.
Can I use the enchantment table underwater?
Yes, Easy Magic lets the enchantment table function while submerged, so you can enchant in an underwater base without draining the area. Just place and use it as you normally would.
How do I repair a damaged anvil?
Right-click the damaged anvil with iron ingots to restore its durability. Note that this repairs the anvil itself—it does not preserve or save any items you were working on.
Does Easy Magic work with other enchantment or automation mods?
It generally plays fine alongside other mods since it only changes how the vanilla enchantment table behaves, but heavily modified enchanting systems from other mods may not interact with its hopper automation. Test in your pack if you're unsure.
Why isn't my hopper inserting items into the table?
Check that the hopper is on the correct side—top for tools and armor, side for lapis, bottom for output. A hopper in the wrong position will try to insert the wrong thing and the table won't accept it.
Does Easy Magic cause lag or performance issues?
The mod is lightweight and mainly changes table behavior and rendering of floating items, so it shouldn't noticeably impact performance. If you see issues, it's more likely from other mods in your pack.
What does Easy Magic Mod do?
It streamlines the enchantment table by keeping items inside it, showing you exactly which enchantments you'll get before you commit, and letting hoppers automate the whole process. It also lets you enchant underwater and repair anvils with iron ingots.
How do I start using the enchantment table with this mod?
Just place an enchantment table and put a tool or armor piece in it like normal. The item now stays inside and floats around the table, and enchantment hints appear so you can see what you'll get before spending XP and lapis.
How do the enchantment hints work?
When an item and lapis are in the table, the interface shows the enchantments that each option will apply instead of the usual cryptic symbols. You pick the option you want with full knowledge of the result, so no more blind enchanting.
How do I automate the enchantment table with hoppers?
Place a hopper on top of the table to feed in tools or armor, a hopper on the side to feed in lapis lazuli, and a hopper underneath to pull out the enchanted items. The table handles the enchanting on its own as materials come in.
How do I repair an anvil with iron ingots?
Use iron ingots on a damaged anvil to restore its durability instead of crafting a whole new anvil. Note that this repairs the anvil itself, not the items you've combined on it.
Does Easy Magic Mod work on Bedrock edition?
Easy Magic is a Java Edition mod, so it does not run on Bedrock. Bedrock players would need a different solution, as this mod relies on Java mod loaders.
My item is stuck in the enchantment table, how do I get it out
The item staying in the table is intended behavior, not a bug. You can take it out by interacting with the table's slot, or let a bottom hopper pull it out if you've set up automation.
Why isn't the hopper pulling the enchanted item out of the table?
Make sure the hopper is placed underneath the table, since that's the output side. A top hopper only inserts tools and armor, and a side hopper only inserts lapis, so the bottom position is the one that extracts finished items.
Does Easy Magic Mod work with other enchantment or magic mods?
It generally plays fine alongside other mods since it modifies the vanilla enchantment table rather than adding a new one. Mods that completely replace the enchanting system or add their own tables may not get the hints and automation features.
