How to Enchant Items Without Guessing (Use the Enchantment Hints)

Place the item and lapis first

Right-click the enchantment table to open it, then put the tool, weapon, or armor piece into the item slot. The item will stay in the table even after you close the interface, and it will float and rotate above the table so you can see it from outside. Add lapis lazuli to the lapis slot — the table still consumes lapis per enchant, so keep a stack on hand.

Read the hints before you commit

Once the item and lapis are in place, the three enchantment options appear on the right as usual, but now each option shows a hint of the enchantments it will actually apply. Hover or look at the option to read what you are buying. This is the whole point of the mod: you no longer spend levels blindly hoping for the right roll. If none of the three options show the enchantment you want, take the item out, put it back in, and the offers reroll — repeat until a hint shows what you need.

Pick the option and collect

Click the option you want. The enchantment is applied, XP and lapis are consumed, and the enchanted item appears in the output slot. Pull it out by hand, or leave it for a hopper underneath to collect. Because the item persists in the table, you can also walk away mid-session and come back without losing your setup.
