Dynamx Physics FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Where do I put content packs after I download them?
Extract the content pack folder and place it directly into your DynamX folder, which is generated in .minecraft when you first run the mod. The mod will load all packs in that directory automatically on your next game launch.
How do I get in and drive a vehicle?
Spawn or locate a vehicle in your world, then right-click it to enter. Use WASD to move, Space to accelerate, and Shift to brake or reverse—the exact controls depend on how the pack creator configured the vehicle.
Why is my vehicle driving weird or sliding around?
Vehicle handling depends on the weight, friction, and suspension properties set in the pack. If a vehicle feels too slippery, the terrain or road surface may not have enough grip, or the pack's physics values may need adjustment by the content creator.
Can I edit vehicle speed and weight myself?
Yes—vehicle properties are stored in configuration files within each content pack. You can open these files and modify values like top speed, acceleration, and mass, then reload the pack to test your changes.
Do ragdolls work with all mobs or just players?
Ragdoll physics apply to characters and entities that have ragdoll models loaded through content packs; standard Minecraft mobs won't ragdoll unless a pack specifically adds ragdoll support for them.
What 3D model format does this mod use?
DynamX uses OBJ format for all 3D models—vehicles, props, armor, and ragdolls must be provided as OBJ files in the content pack.
Will DynamX work with other physics mods?
DynamX uses its own Bullet Physics Engine implementation, so conflicts can occur with other physics mods; test compatibility with your specific mod combination, as some mods may interfere with vehicle or ragdoll behavior.
Why are my vehicles disappearing or not loading?
Check that the content pack folder is correctly placed in the DynamX directory and that the pack's configuration files reference valid OBJ model files. Corrupted or missing model files will prevent vehicles from spawning.
Can I use multiple content packs at the same time?
Yes—place multiple pack folders in your DynamX directory and they will all load together, giving you access to all vehicles, props, and items from every pack.
Does this mod affect server performance?
Physics simulation can be demanding depending on how many active vehicles and props are loaded; performance impact scales with the number of objects using Bullet Physics calculations at once.
