Extend Your Drone's Flight Range Without Signal Loss
Understanding Signal Range
Your drone's video feed becomes staticky at 100 blocks away and stops responding entirely at 150 blocks. This hard limit prevents you from scouting distant areas effectively.
Positioning Strategy
To maximize useful flight distance:
1. Set up a relay point - Place your drone's controller station at an elevated location roughly halfway between your base and the target area you want to scout.
2. Fly in stages - Launch your drone, scout an area within 100 blocks, land it, then reposition yourself closer to the next objective.
3. Use landmarks - Identify tall structures (mountains, towers, trees) that let you climb higher. Flying at greater heights gives you better visibility of distant terrain even within your 150-block hard limit.
4. Mark safe landing zones - Before flying far, identify flat, safe ground where you can land without the drone being destroyed by water or terrain hazards.
Battery Management
Since each flight lasts exactly two minutes, plan your scouting route before launching. Recharge your battery by right-clicking the grounded drone with a fresh battery item before attempting longer expeditions.
