Drone Fpv FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start flying the drone?
Place the machine item on the ground by right-clicking, then hold the controller and right-click the machine to claim ownership. Once claimed, right-click the air with the controller to enter flight mode and switch to the drone's camera view.
Why does my drone stop moving after flying far away?
The drone has a 150-block range limit—beyond that distance, signal is completely lost and the machine becomes uncontrollable. You'll see signal degradation (staticky video feed) starting at 100 blocks, so stay within that range for reliable control.
My drone crashed into water and exploded. Can I prevent this?
Water instantly destroys the drone with a sparking explosion, so you must avoid flying over rivers, oceans, or any water source. Plan your flight path carefully to stay over land only.
How long can I fly before the battery dies?
Batteries last for exactly two minutes of flight time before forcing an emergency landing. You'll need to recharge by right-clicking the grounded machine with a fresh battery item.
Can I fix my drone if it takes damage during flight?
You can repair a grounded drone by hitting it with a
wrench tool, which heals 5 health points per hit. However, damage taken during flight will slow your motors, create black smoke, and distort your camera feed until you land and repair.

Attach bombs to the drone's bottom, then press your attack key while flying to drop them on targets below. This lets you strike from the air without putting yourself in danger.
What information does the flight screen show me?
The custom flight screen displays your health, the drone's battery level, and your current location while you're in first-person view from the machine's camera.
My drone won't respond to controls anymore. What happened?
You've likely flown beyond the 150-block signal range, which completely cuts off control. Fly back within range, or if the drone is too far away, you may need to retrieve it manually or accept the loss.
Can I fly the drone indoors or in caves?
Yes, the drone works indoors and in caves as long as you stay within 150 blocks of the controller and avoid water. The 100-block signal degradation range still applies, so your video feed may get staticky in large underground areas.
Do I need to do anything special to claim a drone that someone else placed?
Yes, you must hold the controller and right-click the machine to claim ownership before you can fly it. Only the owner can control a claimed drone.
