Troubleshooting: Elytra Did Not Drop After Killing the Dragon
Confirm the Dragon Actually Died
If the elytra did not appear, first make sure the dragon was truly defeated and not just damaged. The drop only triggers on the dragon's death, not when it is low on health or when it flies away.
Check Who Got the Kill
In multiplayer, the elytra drops at the location of the player who landed the final blow. If a different player got the last hit, the elytra is at their position, not yours. Look for the personal chat message — it only goes to that player.
Look at Your Feet and Nearby Blocks
The drop appears at the killer's location, which may be inside a block, under a pillar, or on a ledge. Stand still, look down, and check the immediate area. If you were flying when the dragon died, the item may be floating or resting on the ground below.
Mod Conflicts and Loader Issues
If no message appears at all, the mod may not be loading correctly. Verify that Dragon Drop Elytra is installed on both the client and server (for multiplayer), and that no other mod is overriding dragon loot. Check your mod loader's log for errors mentioning the mod.
