Dragon Drop Elytra Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get an elytra with this mod?
Defeat the Ender Dragon in the End as you normally would. When it dies, the mod makes it drop an elytra at the player's location instead of you having to find an End City.
Where does the elytra drop after I kill the dragon?
It drops at the location of the player who dealt the killing blow, not at the central exit portal. Check the ground right where you were standing when the dragon died.
Does the elytra drop in singleplayer too?
Yes, the mod works in both singleplayer and multiplayer. The drop and the broadcast messages function the same way in either environment.
What are the chat messages I see when the dragon dies?
One message is broadcast to everyone in the End announcing the drop, and a second message is sent only to the player at whose location the elytra dropped, so they know where to look.
Why didn't an elytra drop when I killed the dragon?
Make sure the mod is actually loaded and that the dragon was killed by a player rather than by another source like a bed explosion or a command. If the dragon died without a player credited for the kill, no elytra will drop.
Can multiple players each get an elytra from one dragon?
No, the dragon drops a single elytra per kill, at one player's location. In multiplayer, only the player who landed the killing blow gets the drop at their feet.
Do I still need to find an End City for an elytra?
No, that's the point of the mod. Once you defeat the dragon, you get an elytra directly, so End City raiding becomes optional rather than required.
Does this mod work on a server with other players?
Yes, it's designed to work in multiplayer. The broadcast message lets everyone in the End know the dragon dropped an elytra, and the drop goes to the killer's location.
Will this mod conflict with other dragon or loot mods?
It's a minimalistic mod, so conflicts are unlikely, but other mods that change dragon drops or End loot tables could interfere. If the elytra doesn't drop, check whether another mod is overriding the dragon's death loot.
Does the mod affect performance or the dragon fight itself?
No, it only changes what happens when the dragon dies. The fight, the dragon's behavior, and the rest of the End are untouched, so there's no meaningful performance impact.
