How to Get an Elytra from the Ender Dragon with Dragon Drop Elytra

Defeat the Dragon as Usual

Fight the Ender Dragon normally: destroy the End Crystals atop the obsidian pillars, then attack the dragon while it perches on the central portal. You do not need to change your strategy — the mod only changes what happens after the dragon dies.

Where the Elytra Appears

When the dragon is defeated, the elytra does not spawn in the exit portal or in a floating End Ship. Instead, it drops at the player's location — meaning wherever you were standing when the killing blow landed. If you killed the dragon while flying or standing on a pillar, walk back to that spot and look for the dropped item.

Pick It Up and Watch the Messages

Two chat messages fire when the drop happens: one is broadcast to everyone in the End, and a second, more specific message is sent only to the player at whose location the elytra dropped. That second message tells you the elytra is yours to grab. Walk over the item to collect it.

Multiplayer Notes

In multiplayer, only one elytra drops per dragon kill, and it lands at the location of the player who dealt the final blow. If you are playing with friends, decide in advance who should land the kill so there is no confusion about who gets the drop.
