Finding the Elytra After the Dragon Dies (Dragon Drop Elytra)
Understand the Drop Location
The Dragon Drop Elytra mod does not place the elytra in a chest or on the exit portal. It spawns the elytra at the exact spot where the player who killed the dragon was standing. If you were moving when the dragon died, the drop appears at your position at that moment.
Use the Chat Message as a Clue
When the dragon dies, a message is broadcast to all players in the End, and a separate message is sent directly to the player at the drop location. Read that second message — it confirms the elytra dropped at your feet. If you do not see it, check whether you were the one who landed the killing blow.
If You Cannot Find It
- Stand still and look straight down; the item may be hidden under your feet or inside a block you are standing on.
- Check nearby ledges or pillar tops if you were airborne when the dragon died.
- In multiplayer, ask the player who got the personal message where they were standing.
Avoid Losing It
Do not jump into the exit portal before picking up the elytra. The item will remain in the world, but if you leave the End and the chunk unloads, you may have to return later to retrieve it. Grab it before celebrating.
