Access Resource Pack Options

In the Resource Packs menu, select Default HD 64x and click the gear icon (⚙) to open its settings. Not all versions include options, but where available, you can toggle features like animated textures, custom colors, or PBR intensity.

Adjust Animated Texture Performance

If water, lava, or fire animations cause lag, disable them in the pack options. This reduces GPU load while keeping static textures at full 64x quality. The pack remains visually rich without animation overhead.

Fine-Tune Lighting and Shadow Intensity

Some versions allow you to adjust how prominent the baked-in shading appears. Lower values create a flatter, more vanilla look; higher values emphasize depth and realism. Choose based on your preference and system performance.

Combine With Vanilla Texture Tweaks

You can layer a second resource pack on top for minor personal adjustments—for example, a small pack that changes only GUI colors or specific block textures. Ensure Default HD 64x remains ranked first so its 64x textures take priority.

Test Changes In-Game

After adjusting settings, load a world and visit different environments to see how changes affect overall appearance. Reload the pack (F3 + T) to apply changes without restarting.
