How to Install a Shared Quotes Pack on a Server

Where the file lives

On a server, the mod reads config/deathquotes.txt from the server's instance directory, not from each client. That means the quotes everyone sees are controlled by whoever runs the server. If you are the admin, you only need to edit that one file — players do not need matching files.

Applying a pack

Stop the server first so the file is not locked or mid-read. Replace or edit config/deathquotes.txt with the pack you want. Start the server back up. The mod loads the file on startup, so changes made while running may not take effect until a restart.

Keeping clients in sync

If clients also have the mod installed locally, their own config/deathquotes.txt is irrelevant for server death messages — the server's file wins. You can still let players keep personal files for singleplayer. If you want a specific themed pack (Halloween, hardcore, meme quotes), just swap the server file and restart. Keep a copy of the previous pack so you can revert if the new one is unpopular.
