Setting the Timer Duration

DeadChest lets you control how long a death chest survives before it is destroyed along with everything inside. Open the plugin's configuration file and look for the duration setting that governs the countdown shown on the holographic display. Change the value to the number of seconds you want the chest to persist. A shorter timer means players must rush back to their death location; a longer timer gives them breathing room. Save the file and reload the plugin so the change takes effect without restarting the server.

Creating Infinity Chests

If you want a chest that never expires, enable the infinity option in the config. When active, the hologram will not show a countdown, and the chest stays in the world until someone loots it or an admin removes it. This is useful on servers where you do not want players losing gear to a timer, or for testing.

Per-World and Per-Gamemode Control

DeadChest supports world management, so you can apply different durations to the overworld, nether, and end. You can also tie behavior to gamemode, meaning a chest created in survival might behave differently from one in creative. Adjust these entries in the same config section, then reload. Always test by dying in each world to confirm the timer matches your intent.
