Create Realistic Railways FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I link my first railway signal?
Hold a stick in your hand and right-click the base Create train signal first, then right-click your new railway signal to complete the link. This tells your signal which train block to monitor.
What's the difference between 2-aspect and 3-aspect signals?
2-aspect signals show two states (typically stop and go), while 3-aspect signals add a warning state in between. 3-aspect signals require you to link two track blocks in order: the immediate block first, then the following block.
Can I rotate signals to face any direction?
Yes, signals support full 360-degree rotation. Hold Shift while placing to lock rotation to 45-degree angle steps, or place freely and rotate afterward with a wrench.
How do banner repeaters work?
Banner repeaters give drivers an early visual warning before they reach the next signal, helping them prepare to stop or slow down on longer track sections.
Do level crossing barriers stop trains automatically?
No, barriers are visual and audio warnings only—they don't physically stop trains. Link your level crossing to a signal to control train movement through the crossing.
Will the
crossing alarm play constantly or only when trains approach?
The alarm sounds only when a train is approaching the road intersection, not continuously.
Can I place signal nameplates and mounting poles at any angle?
Yes, both support 360-degree rotation with 45-degree angle snapping, so you can align them with your track layout and signal orientation.
What happens if I link signals incorrectly?
Signals won't function as intended—check that you linked the correct track blocks in the right order and that your signals are facing the direction of train travel.
Do I need a wrench to link signals?
No, holding a stick in your hand lets you link signals without opening the wrench menu, making the process faster.
Can I use this mod with other train mods or just Create?
This mod is designed specifically for Create train networks and links to Create's base train signals, so it works best within that ecosystem.
