Create Guardian Beam Defense FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get the first Guardian Beam Turret?
You need to kill a Guardian with a player-dealt final blow to obtain the Guardian drop required for crafting. Once you have the drop, you can craft the
Basic Guardian Beam Turret at a crafting table or similar interface.

The turrets are powered by rotational force from Create Mod's mechanical systems—connect them to shafts, gearboxes, or other rotating components that generate RPM. The faster the rotation speed, the quicker the beam charges up between attacks.
Why isn't my turret attacking mobs?
The turret requires a clear line of sight to its target and the mob must be within 17 blocks. Check that nothing is blocking the beam path, the turret is receiving rotational power, and hostile mobs are actually in range.
Can I move a turret after I place it?
Yes—use a wrench to pick up and relocate the turret. Trying to break it with a pickaxe takes an extremely long time, so always use a wrench for deployment and repositioning.
What's the difference between Basic and Advanced turrets?
The Basic turret locks onto one hostile mob at a time, while the Advanced turret can target up to 10 different hostiles simultaneously within the same 17-block radius. The Advanced turret requires an Elder Guardian drop to craft.
How do I use the
Beam Reactor Helmet?
Equip it as a helmet for armor protection slightly better than netherite, then press 'R' (default key) to fire a continuous guardian beam. The beam damages all enemies in its path but consumes the helmet's durability with each use.
Does the beam go through walls?
No—the turrets require a direct line of sight to lock on and damage targets. Any solid block between the turret and its target will block the beam.
Can turrets target passive mobs or players?
The turrets only lock onto hostile mobs, so they will not target passive animals or players in survival mode.
What happens if I remove the rotational power from a turret?
The turret will stop charging its beam and cannot attack until rotational power is restored. It will maintain its lock on targets but deal no damage.
Can I use multiple turrets to defend a large area?
Yes—place multiple turrets around your base and connect them all to the same rotational power source or separate ones. Each turret operates independently and will attack hostiles within its own 17-block radius.
