How to Rotate Crafting Outputs in the Crafting Table
Rotating a recipe result
When a recipe can be crafted in several orientations (stairs, trapdoors, signs, and similar shaped recipes), Crafting Tweaks lets you cycle through the possible outputs without re-arranging the grid by hand.
1. Place the ingredients for the recipe in the crafting grid as normal.
2. Look at the output slot on the right of the crafting grid.
3. Click the output slot (or use the rotation control the mod adds near the output) to cycle to the next valid result.
4. Keep clicking to step through each available orientation until the one you want is shown.
5. Take the result out of the output slot as usual.
Things to know
- Rotation only appears when the recipe actually has more than one valid output. A recipe with a single result will not change.
- The ingredients stay in the grid while you rotate, so you can pull a different orientation without rebuilding the recipe.
- This is most useful for blocks like stairs and trapdoors where the same ingredients produce several directional variants.
- If nothing changes when you click, the recipe simply has one output, or the grid does not currently match a valid recipe.
