How to Balance Ingredients Across the Crafting Grid

Using the balance feature

Balancing spreads the items already sitting in your crafting grid evenly across the slots they occupy, instead of leaving them stacked unevenly. This is handy when you want to see how many complete crafts your current items can make.

1. Put your ingredients into the crafting grid, even if they are lumped into a few slots.

2. Use the balance control the mod adds to the crafting interface (a button near the grid).

3. The mod redistributes the items so each occupied slot holds an even share.

4. Read the output slot to see how many crafts the balanced layout supports.

5. Take the result, or adjust the grid and balance again.

Why it helps

  • It quickly shows the maximum number of items you can craft from what you have placed.
  • It avoids the guesswork of manually splitting stacks to match a recipe's per-slot requirements.
  • It only rearranges items already in the grid; it does not pull new items from your inventory.
  • If the grid is empty or holds a single stack, balancing has nothing meaningful to redistribute.
