Maximize Chain Distance and Coverage
Understanding the Seven-Block Limit
Chains can stretch up to seven blocks between connection points. To cover larger areas:
1. Place fence posts or walls at intervals of seven blocks or less
2. Connect each pair of adjacent posts with a chain
3. This creates a continuous chain barrier across any distance
Planning Your Layout
Before placing chains, measure your structure:
- Count the blocks between your starting and ending fence posts
- If the distance exceeds seven blocks, add intermediate posts
- Intermediate posts don't need to be decorative—they can be simple fence sections
- Sneak-placement helps align chains neatly when posts are close together
For large perimeters or long fences, spacing posts every six or seven blocks ensures seamless coverage while minimizing the number of posts needed. This balance maintains both aesthetic appeal and practical coverage.
