How to Use the Player Execution Ability on Neutralized Targets

When Execution Becomes Available

Combat Evolution adds a player execution ability that triggers when a target has been neutralized. A neutralized target is one whose combat state has been broken, typically after its stamina is depleted or its guard is interrupted enough times. Once a mob reaches that state, the execution prompt becomes available. You do not need a special item to perform the execution; the ability is tied to the combat framework itself.

Performing the Execution

Approach the neutralized target and look directly at it. When the execution icon appears, use your normal attack input to trigger the execution. The icon that shows up is controlled by the mod's configuration, so if you have registered a custom execution icon it will display instead of the default. If the prompt does not appear, the target is not actually neutralized yet; keep applying pressure until its stamina runs out or its guard breaks. Behavior interruption during combat is what pushes a mob toward the neutralized state, so weapons or tactics that interrupt actions help you reach execution range faster. After the execution completes, the target is removed and you can move on to the next threat.
