Cbc Compact Mount FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I place a compact mount and get it working?
Place the compact mount block where you want your cannon to sit, then attach a shaft to the side input. Connect rotational power (from a motor, water wheel, or other Create power source) to that shaft, and you're ready to rotate it to aim.
Why isn't my cannon pitch changing when I turn the shaft?
Make sure rotational power is actually reaching the shaft—check that your power source is running and the shaft is properly connected. Also verify the cannon structure is built correctly on top of the mount; if the cannon isn't seated properly, pitch adjustments won't work.
Can I aim left and right with a compact mount, or just up and down?
The compact mount only controls vertical pitch (up and down aiming). For horizontal rotation, you'll need to rotate the entire structure or use a different mounting solution.
How many compact mounts do I need for a multi-cannon setup?
You need one compact mount per cannon you want to aim independently. You can place them side by side or in any arrangement, and each one gets its own shaft for separate pitch control.
What's the difference between a compact mount and the standard cannon mount?
The compact mount takes up significantly less space and only handles vertical aiming, making it ideal for tight builds. The standard mount is larger but may offer different features or aiming options depending on your setup needs.
Does the compact mount work with all Create Big Cannons ammunition types?
Yes, the compact mount is a universal aiming block for CBC cannons and works with any ammunition or cannon configuration you build on top of it.
Can I use the compact mount without rotational power?
No, the compact mount requires a powered shaft to adjust cannon pitch. Without rotational input, the cannon will stay at whatever angle it was last set to.
What happens if I connect too much rotational power to the shaft?
Excessive rotational speed will make the pitch adjustment very fast and harder to control precisely, but it won't break the block. Use gearboxes or other Create components to reduce shaft speed for finer aiming control.
Can I build a compact mount cannon that shoots horizontally?
The compact mount only controls vertical pitch, so your cannon will always aim up or down from its base angle. To shoot horizontally, you'd need to orient your cannon structure differently or use a different mount type.
Is the compact mount compatible with other mods that add cannons?
The compact mount is specifically designed for Create Big Cannons and won't work with cannons from other mods. It only functions as a CBC aiming block.
