Capture Nets FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I make a
capture net?
Capture nets are crafted using string and sticks arranged in a specific pattern at a crafting table. Check your crafting recipe book or the mod's recipe guide for the exact layout.
Can I capture hostile mobs like zombies or creepers?
No, capture nets only work on passive and neutral mobs like cows, sheep, and wolves. Hostile creatures, bosses, and players cannot be captured.
What happens to my pet's name and color when I capture it?
The mod remembers everything—names, colors, tamed status, and even whether the animal is a baby. Your pet will be exactly the same when you release it.
Can I carry multiple animals at once?
No, each net holds exactly one creature at a time. You'll need multiple nets if you want to transport several animals together.
How do I know which animal is inside my net?
Hover over the filled net in your inventory to see a tooltip showing the animal's name, breed, and age.
Do I need to repair or recharge the net after using it?
No, capture nets are reusable and never break or need repairs. You can use the same net unlimited times.
Can I capture animals from other mods?
Yes, the mod works with passive and neutral creatures from custom mods as well as the base game, though some mod animals may not be compatible.
What if I release an animal in the wrong place?
Simply capture it again with an empty net and carry it to the correct location. There's no penalty for recapturing.
Can I use Capture Nets in multiplayer or on servers?
Yes, capture nets work in multiplayer and on servers, though server administrators may have their own mod configuration rules.
Does this mod affect performance or cause lag?
Capture nets are lightweight and shouldn't cause noticeable performance issues, even when transporting many animals across your world.
